When Malik Mazlan first picked up Chinese calligraphy 10 year ago, there were many people who doubted him. Mazlan is Malay and doesn’t speak Chinese so some people did not think that he’d continue pursuing this ancient Chinese art form. Now as a full time calligraphy artist, Mazlan wants to show people —including non-Chinese speakers —that language is not a barrier to the appreciation of art.
