Made in Singapore, fired in Singapore’s oldest dragon kiln
Seashell marks below the plate
These marks are created by Wadding or cockle shells, placed on the bottom to prevent the crafts from sticking to the kiln shelves. The cockle shell is calcium carbonate and may contain residual salt from the sea water, the shell will turn into powder during the firing process, which then add on to the effects you see on the wares. If you look closely, they sometimes leave behind fan-shaped markings too!
