Recreating Wa Kueh From Memory | Flavour Memories

Flavours | 8:53 mins

Wa kueh, Hokkien for Wan Guo, is a steamed rice cake dish once sold by street peddlers in Singapore over 50 years ago.

Over the years, the dish has slowly faded out of our hawker centres and many Singaporeans’ memories. In Flavour Memories, we challenge Singaporean chef, Pamelia Chia, to recreate wa kueh entirely out of her father-in-law’s memory. Will she succeed? 🙈

You can follow Pamelia’s wa kueh recipe here! Try it out and let us know how it goes! 😀
