Teh Tarik-ing for Jurong to Japan

Flavours | 3:20 mins

Teh tarik, or literally ‘pulled tea’, is a milk tea beverage popular in Southeast Asian countries which was created by Indian Muslim immigrants in Malay Peninsula. This tea stall that used to be known as the ‘no name teh tarik’ now serves over 1000 cups per day, and has regulars from Jurong to Japan. For many customers, it’s a place to drink and relax with a cup of milk tea. But for the owner, Asgar, the stall is a reminder that one’s hard work will never betray you.
